I’ve always been one to drink more than eat – especially during the summer. I always have water by my side. My confession – I’m in love with Polar Seltzer water. There’s nothing in it but so tasty and refreshing – and was a huge help for me kicking soda. But that’s daytime drinking. When the sun goes down, I like having something a little stronger to wet my whistle. Seeing tomorrow, May 6th is Beverage Day, I whipped up this little number to celebrate with!

Starbucks Passion Tea Lemonade For Adults

While looking for some summery drinks on Pinterest, I kept seeing copycat recipes for Starbucks Passion Tea Lemonade. Such a pretty shade of deep pink! Well, after seeing about a billion pictures of it, I decided I needed to try it. I already had the tea in my cupboard and after a quick stop at the store for some lemonade, I had myself this beloved Starbucks concoction.

People were right. It was definitely yummy. Unfortunately, the lemonade gave me bad heartburn. One glass and I was done. After a few days of looking at the brewed tea in my fridge, I decided to try something a little different. I had a productive day and I was ready to relax for the evening. So out came one of my favorite spirits – Pinnacle Whipped Vodka. Yay for whipped cream-flavored vodka! This stuff is awesome mixed with just about anything.

My version of the Passion Tea Lemonade was inspired by Raining Hot Coupons recipe. I lowered the amount of sugar and left out the vanilla. I added the vodka and viola! It was sweet and had that fruity (but not overwhelming) flavor of the tea and the vodka mixed in so well!

It took the place of the vanilla extract, cut down the tartness of the lemonade, and gave it a kick! Careful, because this is a beverage that doesn’t taste like it’s fueled by booze, so watch how many ya drink! Celebrate Beverage Day with caution and moderation.
